One of the fundamental questions during your overland journey planning stages is budget. It all comes down to money and time, in the end! How much you can expect to spend depends on a bunch of factors. While you can certainly influence your route, amount of driving or how often you spend money on a hotel room or a fancy dinner, there is also quite a bit of luck involved.
We did a fair bit of walking in Tassie. But one easy 8 km walk to the Montezuma Falls ticked so many boxes, we highly recommend it. Even Heiner is happy now, that we did not reach it on the very muddy 4WD track that approaches the falls from the other side.
The cool thing about the walk is that it delivers on several levels.
